About the Band
Swing 7 is the most authentic swing band in the North Bay area.
Swing 7 would be a great choice of music and entertainment for your wedding or private
party.
Swing 7 plays all types of music including: Swing, Jazz, Latin, R&B, and
almost every kind of music you can imagine. The band members have tons of experience having played
with groups all over California, Nevada, and United States.
The band was founded after playing in a jam session setting at the Silverado Bar and Restaurant
in Calistoga over ten years ago. Swing 7 has played for private parties and wedding receptions
in the Napa Valley, Santa Rosa area, Sacramento area, Napa Valley Wine Auction parties, and Piedmont
in the East Bay Hills. The band has also played at jazz festivals in and around the North Bay area.
Swing 7 recently played at a major fund raising private party for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The band consists of trumpet, saxophone, trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. Swing 7 can be enlarged to eight pieces with the inclusion of a second saxophone. The band is also capable of playing with as little as three men depending on the client's budget.
Swing Seven tries to mix up the entertainment with both instrumental favorites and many vocals from almost all band members. Al Cognata always gets a great crowd response when he sings his rendition of "Is You Is, Or Is You Ain't May Baby", or "Straighten Up & Fly Right". Dennis Hubert's voice is perfect for Bobby Daren's "Beyond the Sea" and "Mack the Knife". Their professional sound is similar to famous bands of the Swing era.
Cassette tapes and CD's from Swing Seven's repertoire (about 1000 songs) are available to prospective clients.
